Minggu Muzik Malaysia connects local brands and talents through celebration of original homegrown local music
Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the week-long celebration aims to increase an additional RM50 million revenue for local brands this year
KUALA LUMPUR, 23 APRIL 2019 – Minggu Muzik Malaysia (MMM) is a week-long celebration of original Malaysian music with its inaugural edition to be held in Kuala Lumpur from 9th to 15th September. MMM provides a platform to connect people, brands and businesses together in the good faith of creating stronger support for one another through music. MMM 2019 was launched by Yang Berhormat Tuan Fong Kui Lun, Bukit Bintang Member of Parliament and witnessed by our supporting Malaysian brands and organisations.
MMM 2019 is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA), Branding Association of Malaysia, Recording Academy of Malaysia (RIM), Malaysia Books of Records and is partnering with AirAsia BIG, Travel360.com, Astro Radio, Fave, 8excite, Potboy and many others.
MMM 2019 Organising Chairman Sylvester Fan said: “MMM is all about supporting local brands; while concert tickets are available for purchase, we encourage consumers to buy products from our partners and the top spenders will be rewarded with concert tickets, two million AirAsia BIG points and other exciting bundles. Our aim this year is to help our partnering brands to boost their collective sales by RM50 million. Interested local brands can get in touch with us to find out how to join us as partners.”
On his inspiration on founding MMM, Fan said “The local music industry is very challenging for artists to gain recognition because there are limited platforms in the country that helps connect Malaysians with these artists. We wanted to create a sustainable platform to connect people and businesses where all individuals can benefit from this.”
Following the launch, there will be a series of online and offline activities leading to the finale concert in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur city centre - Bukit Bintang. Battle of Talents will be one of the activities where musicians will perform original songs in any genre to showcase their talent.
Other offline activities include collaborations with AirAsia BIG for an unforgettable musical experience and with other official partners in shopping malls along the Bukit Bintang strip and Golden Triangle area.
Bukit Bintang MP YB Tuan Fong Kui Lun said: “I am excited for all the activities that MMM has in store. It is a sustainable pioneering idea that promotes local brands and our talents at the same time. Bukit Bintang is a popular destination that continuously contributes to the area’s economic growth, these will help drive the footfall to Bukit Bintang and its neighbourhood. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to MMM 2019 for choosing Bukit Bintang as the location for the finale concert.”
The most anticipated activity will be a finale concert featuring artists such as Faizal Tahir, Hujan, Ella, Rabbit Mac, Fuying & Sam, Priscilla Abby and Dennis Lau who all are set to perform and wow the audience during the finale concert. Stay tuned by following us on:
